Structure:
Hermetic Type Distribution Transformers are designed to be completely closed to the atmosphere. The internal pressure of the transformers is adjusted during oil injection using special equipment. The volume expansion in the insulation liquid (oil) that heats up as a result of thermal effects that occur while operating under load is tolerated through the tank with a wave wall structure that has an elastic structure (expands and contracts) and also performs the cooling function. Oil injection is carried out in special vacuum chambers to keep the oil inside the transformer completely full. The core and coil structure is the same as transformers with expansion tanks.
Advantages:
Long Insulation Life:
Since it is closed to the atmosphere, the insulation oil does not come into contact with oxygen and insulation deterioration caused by oxidation is prevented. This extends the insulation life of the transformer and therefore its service life.
Low Maintenance Requirement:
No periodic maintenance other than cleaning is required under normal conditions and use.
Dimension Advantage:
Since there is no expansion tank, the height is reduced in terms of dimensions. This provides an advantage in transformer centers with height problems.
The Most Important Disadvantage:
On-site intervention, maintenance and repair possibilities are low. In every case where the hermetic pressure setting is broken or will be broken, it is necessary to make the hermetic pressure setting again under vacuum with the necessary equipment.
Frequency Transformers are frequently preferred devices in the industry with their high performance and long life. Thanks to their closed system structure, they minimize the need for maintenance and offer dimensional advantages.
